The Prince of Darkness

…And no, that’s not an evil villain in a fantasy game. I’m talkin’ about Ozzy Osbourne, my friends. He was here in Philadelphia last Wednesday and yours truly had the honour of meeting him.

He was at Borders doing a signing for his book, which I’d marked down on my calendar the first time I’d seen the poster for it about a month before. I rushed over after work to get my bracelet and the waiting began.

I did luck out however when I was in line for a coffee and I met a woman who offered me an extra bracelet she had so I was moved from “Group O” to “Group K,” which meant there would only be 500 people in front of me instead of 750. (~50 people per letter group) So I was thrilled. All in all there was a lot of standing and texting Paul and my dad to let them know how I excited I was and how close I was getting.

You see I do this thing when I get excited, where I sort of shake like a little chihuahua. Not all of me, but my hands and I get very antsy. And since I was there by myself I had no one to gush to. Paul and Twitter received the brunt of my excitement, while my dad received a phone call after it was all over and I was walking mindlessly down the city streets in my own world.

But anyway, when I got up to the table, he signed my book, shook my hand, and I thanked him for the music. And I gotta say, the man looked damn good, if not slightly overwhelmed. But I’m sure he had everything under control. After all he had just done this the night before in NYC and we weren’t a rowdy crowd at all. Everyone there truly appreciated the man and the music, and just wanted the chance to meet him and thank him for it all.

It’d be sweet to see him perform live, and I know Ozzfest will be back this year. I’d be more tempted to go if the rest of the bands that play there didn’t suck. Oh well.

p.s. Sorry the pictures kind of suck. All I had with me was my phone which isn’t the most advanced piece of technology I own. -_- fail, I know.
